Real ‘Scores’ in Anti-Drug Campaign to be Bared in a Forum Slated May 2
MANILA, May 1 – Amidst varying figures and perception on the government’s all-out war against illegal drugs, various government agencies will hold a multi-sectoral forum at the Crown Plaza in Ortigas Avenue, Quezon City, 2 p.m of May 2, 2017.
Aptly dubbed “#RealNumbersPH”, the event spearheaded by the Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA, Department of Health (DOH) and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in partnership with the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO), aims to provide a closer and clearer look at the results of government’s operations against the rampant drug menace.
With La Salle University Professor Antonio Contreras as the moderator, all government agencies primarily involved in the anti-drug campaign shall present a comprehensive report on their efforts to eradicate the alarming illegal drugs problem.
PNP Director General Ronald Dela Rosa will be the event’s keynote speaker while, officials from DOH and DSWD will present an update on the drug rehabilitation program. This includes the establishment of rehabilitation centers for drug surrenderers. These centers also offer moral recovery programs and skills training for drug offenders who are willing to turn over a new leaf.
Among the forum speakers are PNP Director for Operations Camilo Pancratius Cascolan, PNP Director Marquez, PDEA Director General Isidro S. Lapeña, Health Secretary Jean Paulyn Ubial, DSWD Assistant Secretary Lorraine Marie Badoy.
Representative from the academe, Professor Ranjit Rye is among the forum reactors.
More or less 400 attendees from different sectors are expected to participate in the interactive #RealNumbersPH forum that shall, once and for all, clarify the confusing and divisive numbers pertaining to President Rodrigo Duterte’s intensified campaign against crime and illegal drugs.
